1. Agreement Overview

By booking a car detailing service with Collins Detailing, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms govern your use of our services and any interactions with us, whether in person or online.

2. Services Provided

Collins Detailing offers a variety of car detailing services, including but not limited to Exterior and Interior Cleaning, Ceramic Coating, Paint Correction , Engine Bay Cleaning, and Upholstery Treatment. Specific details about each service will be provided at the time of booking.

3. Booking and Payment

  • All services must be booked in advance via phone, email, or our website.

  • Full payment or a deposit is required at the time of completion or by the date on the Invoice.

  •  Payments can be made via Online Payment/Bank Transfer, Credit Card/Visa Debit Card.

  • If you cancel or reschedule your appointment less than 12 hours before the scheduled service, a cancellation fee of 10% will be charged unless discussed prior.

4. Service Availability

  • We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel services due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, equipment failure, or illness). In such cases, customers will be notified as soon as possible, and a rescheduled appointment will be offered.

  • Service prices and availability are subject to change without prior notice. The most current prices will be confirmed at the time of booking.

5. Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers are responsible for removing all personal belongings from the vehicle before the detailing service. Collins Detailing is not responsible for lost or damaged items left in the vehicle.

  • Customers must provide access to the vehicle and ensure it is in a condition that allows the detailing service to be performed safely and effectively. 

  • Dogs must be contained to provide safety for Employees. 

  • It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Collins Detailing of any pre-existing conditions or issues with the vehicle (e.g., paint damage, sensitive materials, or specific allergies).

6. Vehicle Condition and Limitations

  • Some vehicles may have specific conditions that could affect the results of the detailing service (e.g., heavily soiled interiors, excessive mold, or scratches). We will notify you of any limitations prior to starting the service.

  • Collins Detailing is not liable for any existing damages, imperfections, or wear-and-tear that are not caused by our services.

7. Liability and Damages

  • While we take great care in performing our services, Collins Detailing is not responsible for any pre-existing damages, issues with the vehicle, or any incidental damage that may occur during the detailing process.

  • Collins Detailing is fully insured for general liability but is not liable for damages to items or personal property left in or near the vehicle.

8. Warranty and Guarantees

  • We strive for the highest quality service. However, because car detailing is a manual process, we do not guarantee perfect or permanent results. We will, however, address any issues directly related to our service if notified within 7 Working days.

  • For specific services like Ceramic Coating or polishing, we do not guarantee longevity of the results due to factors like environmental exposure or the vehicle's care after the service.

9. Privacy and Data Collection

  • We respect your privacy and will only collect and use your personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except for processing payments or as required by law.

  • By using our website or services, you agree to our privacy policy, which is available upon request.

  • We comply with the Privacy Act 2020 in New Zealand and take all necessary measures to protect your personal information. For more details, refer to our Privacy Policy, available upon request.

10. Modifications to Terms

  • Collins Detailing reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website or notifying you directly.

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from the use of our services will be handled in accordance with New Zealand law, and any legal proceedings will take place in the appropriate New Zealand courts.

 

Important Legal Notes for New Zealand:

  1. Consumer Guarantees Act 1993: This Act ensures that consumers are provided with certain guarantees, including the right to receive services of acceptable quality and that are fit for their purpose. If your services are found to be faulty or not up to the agreed standard, customers may be entitled to a remedy (repair, replacement, or refund).

  2. Fair Trading Act 1986: This Act requires that any representations made about your services (advertisements, pricing, or claims of quality) be truthful and not misleading. Ensure that any service descriptions or promotional material accurately reflect what you offer.

  3. Health and Safety at Work Act 2015: As an employer or business owner, ensure that you comply with New Zealand's health and safety laws to ensure that your business premises, vehicles, and work practices are safe for employees, contractors, and customers.
